Dr. Brian Hanna, Medical Director

Dr. Hanna joined HopeHealth in 2010 after several years practicing in Darlington. He went to Wofford College for his undergraduate studies before attending the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, and completed his residency at Anmed, in Anderson, South Carolina. Dr. Hanna plays an active role in the pateint centered medical home accredidation process. As medical director he leads the Florence medical team in providing high-quality patient care.

Dr. Beryl Bachus-Keith, Medical Director

Dr. Bachus-Keith is a board-certified pediatrician, practicing for a multitude of years. She attended Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she also completed her residency.
Dr. Bachus-Keith contributes to her community by writing health articles published in three newspapers in Clarendon County. In addition to serving as the medical director, she also takes great care of her patients in the pediatrics practice.

Jehad Abdalla, MD

Dr. Abdalla specializes in infectious disease medicine and is a graduate of University of Tishreen Faculty of Medicine in Latakia, Syria.
Dr. Abdalla has been providing compassionate and skillful care at HopeHealth since 2009 for patients in the Pee Dee and surrounding areas.

Joseph Acaylar, MD

Joseph Acaylar joined HopeHealth as a board-certified Family Physician in August, 2014. He is originally from the Philippines where he attended the University of Santo Tomas for his medical degree.

He has served his home country by volunteering with the Alexandria Asian-American Lions Club, Batangas Medical Mission, Golden Acres Home for the aged, Makati Medical Center Missions, and University of Santo Tomas Medical Mission. He is fluent in English and Filipino. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking and camping.

Alan H. Barrett, PA-C

Alan Barrett is a physician assistant specializing in family medicine.  Mr. Barrett obtained his bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy at Rhodes College, completed his master's degree in psychology at the Citadel College of Graduate Studies and became a PA-C at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Health Professions.  Before coming to HopeHealth in June 2011, Mr. Barrett was a mental health counselor at Charleston Mental Health.

Patricia Barrineau, FNP-BC

Patricia Barrineau is a board-certified nurse practitioner at HopeHealth. She completed her education and certification as a nurse practitioner at the University of South Carolina School of Nursing and began practicing at HopeHealth in late 2010.

John W. Bingham, MD

Dr. Bingham joined HopeHealth in August 2013. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency at McLeod Health in Florence. He has served as a volunteer physician on two mission trips to Honduras and worked at a free clinic assisting a pharmacist dispensing medications to indigent populations. Dr. Bingham is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He enjoys writing, sketch comedy and basketball.

Gregory Browning, MD

Dr. Browning is a family/general practitioner and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1981. He is recognized as a Healthgrades Recognized Doctor. Before coming to HopeHealth, Dr. Browning had his own private practice in Florence, South Carolina.

Nadia Carey, MD

Dr. Nadia Carey is a board-certified pediatrician at the Manning site. Dr. Carey completed her residency at Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
She received her degree in medicine and surgery from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad.

Brinda Chokshi, MD

Dr. Chokshi specializes in internal medicine and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1993. Before coming to HopeHealth, Dr. Chokshi and Dr. Kelly Lyles shared their practice at Palmetto Healthcare Associates.

David M. Culpepper, MD, FACP

Dr. David Culpepper reestablished his practice at HopeHealth's newest location on Cherokee Road in August 2011.  Dr. Culpepper has spent decades in the medical field, specializing in Internal Medicine.  Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Dr. Culpepper attended medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia.  He completed his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital and Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.

Paul DeMarco, MD

Dr. Paul DeMarco is the director of the Rural Community Health Program at Francis Marion University and has been providing medical care to patients in rural and underserved areas for a large number of devoted years. He began accepting new patients for HopeHealth in early 2011.

Christy Evans, ANP-C

Mrs. Christy H. Evans joined HopeHealth in 2014 as a provider at HopeHealth Primary Care in Florence. She is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner. She received her undergraduate degree from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC and her master's degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Mrs. Evans is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.

Kitty Finklea, RD, AFAA-CPT

Kitty Finklea, RD, AFAA-CPT is a registered dietitian/nutritionist at HopeHealth Diabetes Center in Florence and a certified personal trainer. She received a degree in dietetics from Winthrop College.
Ms. Finklea specializes in diabetes, weight management, and eating disorders. She enjoys helping clients and families achieve their goal of optimal health and energy.

Michael K. Foxworth II, MD

Dr. Foxworth is a board-certified pediatrician originally from Marion, South Carolina and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is now returning to his home community to serve families of the Pee Dee after a seven year residency at the Children's Hospital of Richmond in Virginia.  He is one of only a few doctors in the state specializing in pediatric infectious diseases, implementing treatment and prevention in newborns, infants, children, and young adults with normal and abnormal immune systems.

Dr. Foxworth is a Board Certified pediatrician originally from Marion, South Carolina and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is now returning to his home community  to serve families of the Pee Dee after a seven year residency at the Children's Hospital of Richmond in Virginia.  He is one of only a few doctors in the state specializing in pediatric infectious diseases, implementing treatment and prevention in newborns, infants, children, and young adults caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites in patients with normal and abnormal immune systems.

Rosanne Fulcher joined HopeHealth in October 2013 as a licensed professional counselor. She graduated from Francis Marion University in 1995 with a master's degree in Psychology. She is a member of Psy Chi Honorary Group. Prior to joining HopeHealth, Rosanne was a counselor with McLeod Psychiatric Associates.

Julie Gage, FNP-BC

Ms. Julie Gage treats patients at the Palmetto Street site in Florence. She is an honors graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, where she received a master of science in nursing.
Before joining HopeHealth, Ms. Gage was an internal medicine specialist at a private practice. In the past 15 years, she has also traveled to nine countries as a medical missionary.

Reynald Garma, MD

Dr. Reynald Garma received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines and medical degree from Manila Central University. He completed his residency at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn University Hospital. Dr. Garma is a board-certified pediatrician and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. He has been seeing pediatric patients in Clarendon County for large number of exceptional years.

Meshellia Hayward, FNP-BC

Ms. Hayward is a board-certified nurse practitioner at the Kingstree site specializing in family practice. She received her graduate degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She provides primary care to children and adults. Ms. Hayward has been treating patients in the Williamsburg County area for a number of skillful years. She emphasizes the importance of disease prevention, management of acute and chronic diseases and patient education.

Deborah L. Hopla, FNP-BC

Deborah L. Hopla, DNP, APRN-BC, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner at HopeHealth specializing in Family Practice.  Originally from Georgia, Ms. Hopla received her education at the University of South Carolina and has been treating patients for over twenty years.  Recently Mrs. Hopla accepted a position as Director of the Nurse Practitioner program at Francis Marion University.  She accepts patients at HopeHealth's location on Cherokee Road on Thursdays.

Bonita Johnson, FNP-C

Bonita Johnson joined HopeHealth as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in August 2013. She received her Master in Nursing Science from the University of SC in Columbia. She is a past Director of the ARCH program at Francis Marion University. She enjoys golf, reading, music, crafts and machine embroidery. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association. She was President-elect for the Emergency Nurses Association in 2013.

John J. Kirkland, MD

Dr. John Kirkland merged his family medicine and pediatrics practice with HopeHealth in summer 2010. Dr. Kirkland has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years, and also served three years as a General Medical Officer in the US Navy. In his spare time, he enjoys operating HAM radios, target shooting and hunting.

Krista M. Kozacki, MD

Dr. Kozacki joined the HopeHealth team of providers in August 2011. She attended State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine before completing her residency at the McLeod Family Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. As a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine, Dr. Kozacki has spent nearly 20 years practicing medicine in the Florence community.

Cassie Liang, MD

Dr. Liang is a board-certified physician, focusing in family medicine. She attended Ross University School of Medicine in Roseau, Dominica and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Liang joined HopeHealth Manning Family Practice in April 2013.

 

Anita Longan, MS, RDN/LD, CDE, BC-ADM

Anita Longan is a registered dietitian/nutritionist and certified diabetes educator at the HopeHealth Diabetes Center in Florence. She received her bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of New Hampshire and her master's degree in human nutrition from Winthrop University. She is board certified in advanced diabetes management. Mrs. Longan also works with area organic farmers helping to promote the consumption of fresh, sustainable and locally grown foods. She resides in Darlington with her husband and enjoys gardening, developing new recipes, spending time outdoors and traveling.

Paul Lowe, MD, Psychiatrist

Dr. Paul Lowe is board certified in general psychiatry and is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and completed residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. In September 2012, he incorporated his 15-year Florence private practice into the HopeHealth team. Dr. Lowe has held seven psychiatric medical directorships including five years at McLeod, he also he cared for veterans at the Florence Community Based Outpatient Clinic. In addition, he volunteered his time as a board member for Pee Dee Mental Health.

Kelly Lyles, MD

Dr. Lyles specializes in internal medicine and graduated from the Medical University Of South Carolina at Columbia in 1990. Before coming to HopeHealth, Dr. Lyles and Brinda Chokshi, MD shared their practice at Palmetto Healthcare Associates.

Mary Mitchell, FNP-BC

Mary Mitchell is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at HopeHealth. She has been seeing patients of all ages at HopeHealth since September 2009. Ms. Mitchell spends much of her time outside of HopeHealth serving her community. She is a Faith Community Nurse Coordinator, and in this role serves area churches in hosting health fairs, developing wellness programs and presenting health topics.

Ada Nwankudu, APRN

Ms. Ada Nwankudu is a provider at the Palmetto Street site in Florence. Before joining the medical team at HopeHealth in February 2013, she treated patients in emergency rooms for many years. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she received a master of science in nursing and a master of science in public administration. She specializes in family medicine and is affiliated with several professional organizations.

Akin Olatosi, MD

Akin Olatosi, MD is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases - Fellow American College of Physicians. He has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years. At HopeHealth, Dr. Olatosi serves as one of our infectious disease physicians, providing skilled and compassionate health care to those with HIV ands AIDS. Dr. Olatosi attended medical school in Nigeria at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine, and completed his fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Georgann O'Quinn, LPN, Behavioral Health Counselor

Georgann O'Quinn is a Licensed Professional Counselor, board-certified Personal Coach, and a Corporate Trainer. She joined HopeHealth as a Behavioral Health Counselor in November 2012 providing counseling and documentation for a wide variety of psychological illnesses. She graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Science in Education/Counseling in 1994. She is dedicated to helping others as shown in her previous work experience with the community. She has held positions with Poyner Adult /Community Education Center, Florence-Darlington Technical College, Timrod Elementary School and Carolinas Hospital Systems. She has continued to strive for professional development through continuing education throughout her career and has completed workshops in Grief Counseling, Crisis Prevention, and Play Therapy.

Rodrigo Pereira, MD

Dr. Pereira is a board-certified family physician. He is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he attended medical school at Federal Fluminense University. He completed his residency in family practice in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Pereira is located at HopeHealth Timmonsville.

Jon Peters, FNP-C

Mr. Peters joined the HopeHealth Manning adult practice in April 2013 as a family nurse practitioner. He is a graduate of Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky and received his undergraduate degree from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. Mr. Peters enjoys spending time with his family when not caring for patients.

Steve Reeves, MD

Steve Reeves joined HopeHealth as a Locum Tenens in April 2013. He became a staff physician of HopeHealth in March 2014. He attended USC School of Medicine in Columbia, SC receiving his Medical Degree in May 2010. He has a commercial pilot license and enjoys flying, hunting, hiking, fishing, motorcycling and wake boarding.

Neena Singh, MD

Dr. Singh graduated from Gulbarga University / Government Medical College in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India.  She focuses on family medicine. Before joining HopeHealth Lake City in October 2012, Dr. Singh was a physician for McLeod Family Medicine, in Lake City SC.

Ms. Williams is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, specializing in family medicine. Ms. Williams obtained her bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. Ms. Mitchell spends much of her time outside of HopeHealth serving her community. She is a Faith Community Nurse Coordinator, and in this role serves area churches in hosting health fairs, developing wellness programs and presenting health topics.

Ada Nwankudu, APRN

Ms. Ada Nwankudu is a provider at the Palmetto Street site in Florence. Before joining the medical team at HopeHealth in February 2013, she treated patients in emergency rooms for many years. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she received a master of science in nursing and a master of science in public administration. She specializes in family medicine and is affiliated with several professional organizations.

Akin Olatosi, MD

Akin Olatosi, MD is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases - Fellow American College of Physicians. He has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years. At HopeHealth, Dr. Olatosi serves as one of our infectious disease physicians, providing skilled and compassionate health care to those with HIV ands AIDS. Dr. Olatosi attended medical school in Nigeria at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine, and completed his fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Georgann O'Quinn, LPN, Behavioral Health Counselor

Georgann O'Quinn is a Licensed Professional Counselor, board-certified Personal Coach, and a Corporate Trainer. She joined HopeHealth as a Behavioral Health Counselor in November 2012 providing counseling and documentation for a wide variety of psychological illnesses. She graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Science in Education/Counseling in 1994. She is dedicated to helping others as shown in her previous work experience with the community. She has held positions with Poyner Adult /Community Education Center, Florence-Darlington Technical College, Timrod Elementary School and Carolinas Hospital Systems. She has continued to strive for professional development through continuing education throughout her career and has completed workshops in Grief Counseling, Crisis Prevention, and Play Therapy.

Rodrigo Pereira, MD

Dr. Pereira is a board-certified family physician. He is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he attended medical school at Federal Fluminense University. He completed his residency in family practice in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Pereira is located at HopeHealth Timmonsville.

Jon Peters, FNP-C

Mr. Peters joined the HopeHealth Manning adult practice in April 2013 as a family nurse practitioner. He is a graduate of Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky and received his undergraduate degree from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. Mr. Peters enjoys spending time with his family when not caring for patients.

Steve Reeves, MD

Steve Reeves joined HopeHealth as a Locum Tenens in April 2013. He became a staff physician of HopeHealth in March 2014. He attended USC School of Medicine in Columbia, SC receiving his Medical Degree in May 2010. He has a commercial pilot license and enjoys flying, hunting, hiking, fishing, motorcycling and wake boarding.

Neena Singh, MD

Dr. Singh graduated from Gulbarga University / Government Medical College in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India.  She focuses on family medicine. Before joining HopeHealth Lake City in October 2012, Dr. Singh was a physician for McLeod Family Medicine, in Lake City SC.

Jaymas Williams, FNP-C

Ms. Williams is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, specializing in family medicine. Ms. Williams obtained her bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. She advanced her studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she received a Master of Science in Nursing. Ms. Williams currently treats patients at the adult practice at HopeHealth Manning.
