On December 9, 2008, HopeHealth opened its doors for the very first time in its new facility at 600 East Palmetto Street in Florence. HopeHealth wanted to be able to offer care to more patients and its facility size was a hindrance, so a new building was needed.

Things are looking bright for the future of HopeHealth in Florence. The organization, which helps secure treatment and testing for HIV and AIDS, expanded its services in 2007 to include primary care for any patients who walk through the doors. They also recently moved into a new building on Palmetto Street.

Since 1991, HopeHealth, Inc. has been serving patients with HIV and AIDS supported by HRSA grants through the Ryan White programs. As an AIDS Service Organization (ASO), HopeHealth provides comprehensive primary care, specialty care, mental health and substance abuse services, case management, prevention education and counseling for a fairly stable patient load of about 1,400.
