HopeHealth Hires Chief Information Officer

HopeHealth welcomes Mark Spurling as our new Chief Information Officer!  Mark joined HopeHealth in March, and his primary responsibilities  include directing and managing all aspects of information and communication systems; developing policies and procedures; monitoring and maintaining the security of information systems, telecommunications, and equipment; developing all back-up and disaster recovery plans; ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations regarding electronic data; developing monitoring systems to identify potential problems or hazards; repairing systems and equipment; making recommendations regarding repair / replacement of systems / equipment and emerging technology.  We are glad to have Mark join the HopeHealth family, and are certain that he will be a great asset to our organization. 

HopeHealth Florence Staff Member Obtains National Medical Assistant Credentials

Congratulations to Atoya Gaskins, MA  for completing and passing the National Association for Health Professionals - National Healthcare Credentialing exam.  She is now credentialed as a medical assistant, allowing her to register nation-wide and be recognized as a medical assistant in any state that she serves. 

HopeHealth Florence Case Managers Become Recognized as Ryan White Part B Medical Case Mangers

HopeHeatlh congratulates Florence HIV Case Managers Ludrick Cooper, La'Quantia Goodman, Suzanne Snipes, Jeneil Goodson, and Se'Mekia Green for passing the state required exam.  They are now recognized by DHEC and the State as Ryan White Part B Medical Case Managers.  They had to take part in an educational training series in order to become certified, which consisted of seven courses relating to HIV (Basic Counseling, HIV 101, and Benefits Navigation, to name a few) and they had to pass an exam required by DHECH.  New Case Managers have up to a year to become certified.  

Board Member Sonya Graves named principal of Lucy T. Davis Elementary School in Florence

HopeHealth Board Member Sonya Graves has recently been named Principal of the Lucy T. Davis Elementary School by the Florence School District 1 Board of Trustees.  Located at 3364 Hoffmeyer Road, the new school will open this fall. 

Ms. Graves has been the assistant principal at Carver Elementary School since 2009, and has served on the HopeHealth Board of Directors since 2011.  Prior to her role at Carver, she worked as Curriculum Coordinator at Briggs Elementary, a fifth-grade teacher at Royall Elementary School, and as a teacher at Whitmire Elementary School in Whitmire, where she began her career.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master's of Education Degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University, as well as a Master of Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.
